Vegetarians rejoice! Casa Kitchen– Kolkata’s quality vegetarian space has started their Baisakhi food festival to celebrate the Punjabi Baisakhi starting April 12th.

Baisakhi Food Festival boasts of an elaborate menu full of Punjabi and North Indian flavors and shall be available for lunch and dinner. Choose from cheesy and creamy Paneer Malai Makhana Tikka or exciting Subz Bhuna Masala Tikki or try the Paneer Pukhtan (dices of cottage cheese cooked in Royal gravy ).
The festival would also showcase a variety of Indian bread like Missi Roti, Amritsari Kulche and Pyaz Paratha (. No Punjabi is happy without Rajma and the festival spread has both the Rajma Dal and the Dhabe ki Dal.
For desserts, nothing beats the iconic Gajar ka Halwa and the ever-indulging Kesaria Firni. To complement the entire spread, there will be a range of exotic cocktails and mocktails along with imported liquor and wines. It’s a celebration you wouldn’t want to miss.

The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat is all set to celebrate their first Poila Boisakh in total Bangaliana style. Why Bangaliana? because this would be a conglomeration of the East (Read Bangladeshi- Opar Bangla) and West Bengal(Epaar Baangla) in one flavorful fervor this time at The Seasonal Tastes. A few of the signature items on the menu will be Smoked Hilsa, Dab Chingri, Chittol Maach, Hilsa Pulao, Kakra Jhol, Dhokar Dalna, Shukto, Kosha Mangsho, Shorshe Maach, Chhanar Dalna among others. Another heritage spot in the city, Kebab-e-Que at The Astor takes a Bengali twist with a Poila Boishak special buffet spread titled Bong Boishak. The buffet menu curated by Executive Chef Amlan Bose boasts of a quintessential traditional Bengali fare comprising at pocket-friendly pricing. Some of the highlights from the menu include Narkel Mochar Ghonto (banana fritters stir fry with coconut), Sorse Shobji (mixed vegetable in a soothing rustic curry), Kalo Morich Mangsho (a delicate balanced spiced mutton), Kacha Lonka and Sorse Diye Murgi Jhol (chicken simmered in a chilli and mustard gravy), along with Pulao, Phulko Luchi and Hinger Kochuri. The perennial favorites like Begun Bharta, Pabda Macher Doi Posto (Fish curry in thick poppy seed gravy), Dhakai Chingri Cutlet (Bengali classic snack served with kashundi) and Cholar Dalna (coconut infused lentils) are also a part of the elaborate spread.
